Saturn at Equinox
From 20 degrees above the ring plane, Cassini's wide angle camera shot 75 exposures in succession for this mosaic showing Saturn, its rings, and a few of its moons a day and a half after exact Saturn equinox, when the sun's disk was exactly overhead at the planet's equator. The images were taken on Aug. 12, 2009, at a distance of approximately 847,000 km (526,000 mi) from Saturn. (NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute)

As the Golden Section is found in the design and beauty of nature, it can also be used to achieve beauty and balance in the design of art. This is only a tool though, and not a rule, for composition.
The Golden Section was used extensively by Leonardo Da Vinci. Note how all the key dimensions of the room and the table in Da Vinci's "The Last Supper" were based on the Golden Section, which was known in the Renaissance period asThe Divine Proportion.

This is a collection of photographs of statesmen in the time of the Russian Revolution and Stalin. The books tells how they were made and falsified later, when people quit politics or vanished.
Composograph Events in the Evening Graphic
The Evening Graphic’s faked photographs included twenties superstar actor Rudolph Valentino on the surgeon’s table, and a faked execution chamber scene with the condemned man strapped into the electric chair. One notable cover page showed Valentino and opera star Enrico Caruso meeting in the afterlife. Critics soon dubbed The Evening Graphic

Minty Forrest Photo Project
One year ago in March 2008, we (Nina Barry and Josh Shayne) set out with a simple idea:
They would each take a photo every day and, operating under a pact of absolute secrecy, neither would know what the other is working on. Each morning, they would post our photos on Minty Forest side by side. It was an exciting experiment in blind collaboration and we have been more than thrilled with the many surprising combinations that came together over the last year.
